» Improving Executive Level Reporting
It seems as though the larger the company the less automated executive level reporting becomes. Even though it may have on staff incredible talent along with some very powerful and high end systems, executive level reporting still comes down to excel spreadsheets being passed from department head to department head. I have successfully implemented solutions that improve this process. All solutions have revolved around my ability to work with and understand each business unit or department. I design data feeds that load into one centralized database. Executives are able to point and click their way to reviewing an entire corporation or company.

One of the most rewarding roles I play is educating non technical individuals on how and when to use databases. I have helped individuals turn days worth of work into hours, sometimes even minutes. I customize each class based on the end user. So I may teach an entire department or maybe a group of analysts, accountants, customer service representatives, etc. What makes it most effective is that I use their data. REAL data! They actually begin to apply what their learning by automating their actual daily / weekly or monthly tasks.

I have scoped, architected and implemented over a dozen major applications for a variety of industries such as retail, manufacturing, accounting, sales, forecasting, medical, legal, printing and business to business. Since I am a programmer I manage programmers extremely well. I know how long tasks should take and if they are being programmed efficiently. I keep projects on track by meeting both timelines and budgets.

I have designed and am responsible for several databases that are both product and sales driven. These databases have been designed to anticipate any request by analysts and executives. Technical and non technical users have access to a generic query generating front end that pulls the desired data with very little effort.

I have designed and built sales reporting systems that measure performance in a variety of ways such as measuring units, sales, profits, incentive programs, most sold by region, by territory, or by salesman.

Along with my strong data management skills, I have a degree in Probability and Statistics so I am very good at applying rules and assumptions to forecast out sales used for budgets and production.

Having more than one system in place is not desirable but it is a reality. Due to the complexity of many businesses it is necessary to invest in more than one system to run day to day operations. I have sucessfully helped organizations identify their needs and implement logical systems integrations for themselves and ocassionally with other companies or vendors.

Providing web based marketing store fronts that allow corporate offices to communicate with all their locations. This gives corporate the ability to control branding and presentation as well as quick and labor free ways to put new support items out for all their locations. This concept cuts down on the entire management process of these marketing programs such as vendor communication, order entry and billing.
